PROMINENT STOCKS THAT FIIs / INSTITUTIONS BOUGHT AND SOLD IN THE PERIOD 1/6/2012 TO 15/7/2012 PART 2














BALKRISHNA INDUSTRIES LTD:
  • FRANKLIN TEMPLETON INVESTMENT FUNDS bought 1270000 shares at 240 each.
  • ICICI PRUDENTIAL DYNAMIC PLAN bought 12500000 shares at 240 each.
  • RELIANCE LONG TERM EQUITY FUND bought 500000 shares at 240 each
  • SBI MF bought 1153081 shares at 240 each.
  • FRANKLIN INDIA FLEXICAP FUND bought 600000 shares at 240 each.
  • COPA CABANA sold 9015516 shares at 240.03 each. Readers may note that COPA CABANA which is a subsidiary of CHRYSCAPITAL, was the largest Public shareholder in the Company holding 9.59% stake in the Company prior to above sale. The above sale amounts to approx 9.34% stake sale and obviously means a near total exit for COPA CABANA from BALKRISHNA INDUSTRIES LTD.
  • Interestingly the Stock CMP 297 has appreciated almost 25% since the above transactions which took place on 28/6/2012.
SOUTH INDIAN BANK:
  • FIRST CARLYLE MAURITIUS bought 22622348 shares at 26.5 each. FIRST CARLYLE, as readers may know, is one of the larger Global Equity players active in Emerging and other Markets. Recently, it had also bought a stake in INFOTECH ENTERPRISES.
  • INDIA CAPITAL MANAGEMENT sold 20000000 shares at 26.5 each. INDIA CAPITAL MANAGEMENT is a Mauritius based FII founded by the celebrated Sir John Thorn. This FII, prior to this sale, was the largest Public Shareholder in the Company holding about 14% stake, which post sale has reduced to approx 12 % stake in the Company. It still remains the largest non-promoter Public Shareholder in the Company.
