PROMINENT STOCKS THAT FIIs / INSTITUTIONS BOUGHT AND SOLD IN THE PERIOD 1/6/2012 TO 15/7/2012 PART 1












BLUE STAR LTD:
  • SAIF INDIA IV FII HOLDINGS spent Rs 47.5 crores to buy 25 lakh shares of the Scrip at Rs 190 each, on 13/7/2012.  This amounts to 2.78% stake BUY in the Company. With this, the total stake of SAIF jn BLUE STAR has gone up to 4.17%, thus making it the second largest non-promoter shareholder in the Company. Readers may like to note that SAIF is a leading Asian PE player with interests in Chinese and Indian Stocks. Earlier SAIF had bought 958714 at 174.93 each.on 19/6/2012 in the Company. Its other prominent holdings in Indian Companies are HAVELLS, TAJ HOTELS, IL&FS INVESTMART, JUSTDIAL, THERMAX, SPECIALITY RESTAURANTS, NETWORK 18 etc.
  • While SAIF bought as above, HDFC STANDARD LIFE INSURANCE sold 2881563 shares of BLUE STAR at 190 each on 13/7/2012 which amounts to a SALE of 3.18% stake in the Company. Prior to this sale, HDFC STANDARD held 3.33% stake in the Company.
  • Similarly KUROTO FUND LP sold 747321 at 175 on 19/6/2012.
ONMOBILE GLOBAL:
  • Leading French Bank SOCIETE GENERALE bought 8.04 lakh shares of the Company on 12/7/2012 at Rs 37.08 each. This amounts to a total spend of roughly Rs 3 crores for the approx 0.7% stake in the Company.
  • GOLDMAN SACHS bought 657075 shares of the Company on 12/7/2012 at 36.93 each, after having sold 655632 on 9/7/2012 at 34.01. Prior to this, GOLDMAN SACHS had bought 1200000 shares on 2/7/2012 at 29.59 each.
  • On 4/7/2012,  MERRILL LYNCH CAPITAL MARKETS ESPANA SA bought 755000 shares at 33.46 each.
  • On 4/7/2012, JM FINANCIAL SERVICES sold 752000 at 33.57 each.
  • On 2/7/2012, SMALL CAP WORLD FUND INC sold 760292 at 31.11 each
  • On 29/6/2012, BARCLAYS CAPITAL bought 728000 at 32.02 each.
  • On 29/6/2012, SMALL CAP WORLD FUND INC sold 180661 at 30.29 each
  • On 29/6/2012, SMALL CAP WORLD FUND INC sold 2224816 at 32.74 each and 786308 at 32.87 each. Readers may like to note that with these SALE transactions SMALL CAP WORLD FUND INC which was the largest non-promoter stake holder at end March 2012 has almost totally exited the Company.
  • On 2/7/2012, KOTAK MAHINDRA PRIME sold 600000 at 29.65 and 2880000 at 30.24
  • On 2/7/2012, BIRLA GLOBAL FINANCE sold 1379600 at 29.42 each
  • On 2/7/2012, HDFC MF bought 704920 at 29.62 each.
  • On 28/6/2012, BIRLA SUNLIFE TRUSTEE CO. sold 800000 at 34.5
  • On 3/7/2012, HDFC MF bought 1725000 at 30.97. Readers may note that with this BUY HDFC MFs total stake in the Company is at 24.3 lakh shares ie 2.11% stake.
SUMMARY FOR ONMOBILE GLOBAL
  • The period saw SMALL CAP WORLD FUND almost totally exiting from the Company
  • JM FINANCIAL, KOTAK MAHINDRA PRIME, BIRLA SUNLIFE , BIRLA GLOBAL FINANCE significantly reduced their stake.
  • SOCIETE GENERALE, GOLDMAN SACHS, BARCLAYS CAPITAL, MERRILL LYNCH ESPANA SA, HDFC MF significantly upped their stake in the Company as detailed above.
